Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician will oversee the performance and maintenance of the production machinery and ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment is up to company standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities w/ similar skill and work conditions as assigned.

  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.

  • Utilizes precision measuring and testing instruments to locate sources of problems and troubleshoots malfunctions.

  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices utilizing hand and power tools.

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb

    bobs, and straightedges.

  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance

    techniques; monitoring compliance.

  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory

    level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders and

    verifying receipt.

  • Preserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job

    results.

  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information

    and trends.

  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical

    publications; establishing personal networks.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and

    regulations.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.

  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems.

  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.

  • Works well independently and with others.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Organized with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.

  • Ability to interact in a dynamic team environment while displaying tact and diplomacy with peers and management alike.

    Education and Experience:

  • HS diploma or equivalent.

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician.

  • Working knowledge of tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
